The War
By Ramya Kumar, Vivian Lim, and Stephen Dong
They had no intentions of having a fair fight
and they even tried to instill us with what they called fright
But their actions only served to ignite
the fire that was my might
Their attempt was adorable
but just so deplorable,
like watching a man try so hard to cheat
only to find himself so badly beat
I did it for the people I care so much for
Not for the those who are rotten to the core
But even after losing, they still want a war
I decided that I had to protect those I adore
But my friends and allies told me I wasn't alone
For they would join me in the combat zone
where the righteous would stand tall
and the sinful would fall
The "popular" crowd think nothing of us
they think that there should be nothing to discuss
They think they deserve to to win
Maybe someone should poke them with a pin
To wake them up from their dream
where they live happily with ice cream
These people are not a good fit
but they are too prideful to admit it
Popular and qualified are two different traits
each with a gate leading to two different fates
They would say popularity is more essential
just because they think they don’t have hidden potential
People aren't perfect, that I agree
But stop trying to be what others want to see
Popularity means nothing if your friends are all fake
So don't make that mistake
for your future is at stake
And it’d be horrible to see it crumble and break.
