without even realizing,

i was holding the phone

desperately trying to

hear your voice

 

“where are you?”

as i spoke softly

with my trembling heart

in my hand

 

“are you struggling a lot?”

tears fell down

just by hearing your

cold breath

 

“how are you?”

whilst choking on my tears,

i lost my job and

nearly lost my mind

 

we promised

we’d leave each other for good

but the storm

hasn’t passed
