Heliocentric

by Ramya Kumar & Vivian Lim

The sun tiptoes through the meadows,

its warmth paints the dew-dropped grass

and buys the sunflower a nice coat of yellow

With all of this, the scene seems like a flawless glass

The sun peeks through the forest

with only thin rays that escape through the leaves

So be quick, for the sight of komorebi will be the shortest

before it’s stolen by the sunset thieves

The sun swims above the lake,

blue hues now despite the star’s glow

But don't jump in for God’s sake!

It's still very cold, like ice snow

And the sun will continue to flicker

even if it becomes dim,

it will surely return
